On Saturday, April 22 our families gathered in the church for Mass 101. This year we focused on the Liturgy of the Eucharist and the treasure we find when we go to Mass. The families listened to the new children's book Seven Clues: A Catholic Treasure Hunt written by Dr. Scott Hahn and Maura Roan McKeegan (the children's version of Dr. Hahn's book, The Lamb's Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth). I highly recommend both books! The families followed along with the book by writing down the answers to the seven clues on their own scrolls. We went on a scavenger hunt to find and name the sacred objects and vessels used during the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Then Father Michael taught a lesson on the Liturgy of the Eucharist, explaining in detail what happens during this most sacred moment in the Mass (Where Heaven touches Earth), and we ended our wonderful morning with Mass.
A big thank you to the families and their participation in Mass 101 and in all the Family Faith Formation sessions we have held this year. And another big thanks to everyone who helped make Mass 101 a great learning experience!
In the Joy of the Risen Lord,
Shelly

Religious Education
Making God known and loved with our children and youth.
At Shrine of St. Therese’s catechism programs, children and youth are led and guided by dedicated catechists who generously volunteer their time, energy, and instruction throughout the catechism year. Our catechists take on the role of true discipleship in the catechism program by meeting the children where they are at and walking alongside them in the journey with Christ. The children in the catechism program are taught and exposed to the basic fundamentals of the Catholic faith during the catechism hour. They are led to a deeper understanding and interpretation of the faith by the instruction provided to them by their catechists in turn leaving them with a deeper understanding of their faith
All religious formation classes (kindergarten through Confirmation) are held Sundays from 9:15 – 10:45 am in the gymnasium and school building. Please contact Charlotte Martinez (719) 542-1788 ext. 7 for more information.
